Delete account & data
ExTr is local-first — without an account, your data lives only on your device and no account exists to delete. If you turned on backup or shared Spaces, you have an account, and you can delete it and all its data yourself, from inside the app, at any time.
1 · Delete in the app
Open ExTr and go to:
Your profile → Account → Delete account & data
You’ll be asked to type DELETE to confirm. This is permanent and cannot be undone.
2 · What gets removed
Deleting your account permanently removes, from the backend:
- your encrypted backup — all expenses, goals, recurring bills, and receivables;
- your encryption key material;
- your membership of any shared Spaces, including the email addresses stored for invitations and any name shown to co-members; Spaces you own are closed and their other members revert to their own private copies;
- your account identity itself — the email address associated with your Google sign-in.
The app then also wipes ExTr’s database from your device and signs you out. Nothing of your account remains on our side.
3 · Turning off backup is not the same
Turn off backup (Profile → Backup) deletes your encrypted copy and key from the backend but keeps your account. To remove everything, including your account and email, use Delete account & data above.
4 · Removing on-device data
To remove ExTr’s data from a device, delete the app — that removes its on-device database. Data already included in your own iCloud or Google device backup is governed by Apple’s or Google’s terms and your device settings, which you control.
5 · Prefer to ask us?
If you can’t use the in-app option, email contact@extr.in from the address associated with your account and we’ll delete your account and data for you.
